Fatigue during pregnancy is a symptom many women experience, especially in the first and third trimesters. Many patients receiving acupuncture, for any reason, report improvement in energy levels, and it is especially noticed during pregnancy.
PREGNANCY BACK PAIN
During pregnancy, back pain can be a common experience as the baby starts to put pressure on the back and pelvis. Acupuncture is widely accepted as an effective treatment for back pain, and is particularly effective for pregnancy related back and hip pain. It is best to treat this type of pain as soon as it starts to develop as it can worsen as the baby grows. Acupuncture is safe during pregnancy and can help resolve pain in any part of the back, neck and shoulder and hip, including sciatica.
Water retention and swelling is a common side effect of advanced pregnancy and can be helped with regular acupuncture treatment.
Between 34 to 36 weeks gestation, a foetus becomes positioned for birth with its head down. However, sometimes a baby is not positioned this way; it is termed a breach presentation. By using moxibustion sticks on acupuncture points on the feet you can influence the baby by up to 50% to turn into the correct position.
